Melbourne SharePoint User Group – 23rd February

The Melbourne SharePoint User Group will hold its first meeting for 2006 on Thursday 23rd February, from 6.00pm at Microsoft (Level 9, Como Office Tower, 644 Chapel St South Yarra).

This month, Steve Iatropoulos, Information Worker Technology Specialist for Microsoft will present on Groove Technology.

Groove is a technology which Microsoft acquired in 2004 to help with ad-hoc team collaboration. Groove offers an excellent set of capabilities for sharing documents, contacts, tasks and forms in an online and offline mode. Does that sound similar to Sharepoint? Yes! However the two sets of technologies are increasingly being merged to complement each other. In this session, Steve will demonstrate the latest version of Groove (currently called Groove ‘12’) and discuss how this technology complements as well as overlaps Sharepoint

As always, the beer and pizzas are on us and we look forward to seeing everyone there!
Please let us know if you have any feedback on how we can improve the user group. Also, if you would like to present to the group on your experiences with SharePoint, just let us know. We can be contacted at spsusergroup@uniqueworld.net or by visiting http://sps.uniqueworld.net/melbourne
