Canberra SharePoint User Group Meeting - 17th May

The Canberra SharePoint User Group will hold its May meeting on Wednesday 17th May, from 5.30pm at Microsoft (Level 2, 44 Sydney Ave Barton).

This month, John Hodgson from Microsoft will present on Groove Technology.

Groove is a technology which Microsoft acquired in 2004 to help with ad-hoc team collaboration. Groove offers an excellent set of capabilities for sharing documents, contacts, tasks and forms in an online and offline mode. Does that sound similar to Sharepoint? Yes! However the two sets of technologies are increasingly being merged to complement each other. In this session, John will demonstrate the latest version of Groove (currently called Groove ‘12’) and discuss how this technology complements as well as overlaps Sharepoint.

As always, the beer and pizzas are on us and we look forward to seeing everyone there!

Please note that due to security reasons at Microsoft Canberra, attendees arriving after 6pm will not be able to get into the building.

Please let us know if you have any feedback on how we can improve the user group. Also, if you would like to present to the group on your experiences with SharePoint, just let us know. We can be contacted at spsusergroup@uniqueworld.net or by visiting http://sps.uniqueworld.net/canberra
